The opposite of a Top Gun Producer!
Symptoms and characteristics of a failed planner affliction include:
- Judgemental heuristics
- Mental accounting
- Myopia
- Confirmation bias
- Slothfulness
- Extreme call reluctance
- Neurotic fear of rejection
- Lack of confidence that comes from a lack of competence
- Uncoachable
- Vocal support of censorship and anti-competitive legislation
- Promotion and belief in egalitarianism, communism and socialism
- failed planners give advice to others about how to succeed in financial services when they are not successful in their own right
- Refuses to accept the reality that prospecting and selling are required skills in the craft of advice
- Rejects the use of the consultative sales process, and instead employs the "wait and see" marketing plan, which is a plan for failure
- Extreme difficulty reconciling their lack of ethics with perceived, self-created, or grossly exaggerated conflicts of interest, dooming their career to an endless and impossible quest for success without having to sell something
- Anyone with more letters after their name than the number of clients in their book
